Sri Lanka’s first AI-powered recruitment platform, HotJobs, was officially launched on March 17 at Cinnamon Life in Colombo by Careers360 Sri Lanka, a joint venture between InTalent Asia and InspireX.

The platform uses intelligent matching algorithms to connect employers with suitable candidates, aiming to modernise a recruitment market that has been slow to adopt technology-driven solutions.

How it works

HotJobs positions itself as a smarter alternative to traditional job boards, using AI to match candidates based on skills, experience, and employer requirements rather than relying solely on keyword searches and manual filtering.

“HotJobs was created with a clear vision to improve the way employers and candidates connect,” said Heshani Kaumadi, CEO of HotJobs and InTalent Asia. “As hiring continues to evolve, we believe there is a strong need for smarter and more responsive platforms that combine technology with real recruitment insight.”

Market context

The launch comes as Sri Lanka grapples with structural unemployment challenges, particularly among younger workers. The country’s job market has been under pressure since the 2022 economic crisis, with many skilled workers emigrating and employers struggling to find qualified candidates domestically.

The recruitment industry globally has been moving rapidly toward AI-driven solutions, and HotJobs represents an effort to bring those capabilities to the Sri Lankan market. The platform serves employers across multiple sectors and is accessible to job seekers nationwide.
