Major General Manada Yahampath of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry has been appointed as the 68th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, effective April 2, 2026.
Yahampath previously served as the 47th Deputy Chief of Staff since June 2025 before his promotion to the senior role. The Sri Lanka Light Infantry is one of the Army’s principal infantry regiments.
The appointment was announced by the Sri Lanka Army on April 2.
