Dialog extends cricket awards sponsorship for three years as 42 players honoured

Sri Lanka Cricket has staged its Annual Sri Lanka Cricket Awards 2025, recognising 42 performers from international and first-class cricket for the 2025 season, with title sponsor Dialog Axiata extending its backing of the awards for a further three years.

The ceremony was scheduled for August 6 at Cinnamon Life in Colombo. The sponsorship extension continues a partnership of more than 13 years between Dialog and Sri Lanka Cricket.

What was on the night’s card

The top honours were the Men’s Cricketer of the Year and Women’s Cricketer of the Year awards. Other international categories included Best Batter, Best Bowler, Best All-Rounder, and Men’s and Women’s Emerging Player of the Year, covering performances across all formats.

First-class cricket was recognised with awards for Best Batter, Best Bowler, Best All-Rounder and Most Valuable Player. The champion teams of the Major Club Three-Day Tournament, the Major Club Men’s and Women’s 50-over tournaments and the Major Club T20 Tournament were also felicitated.

Four Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented, honouring two former cricketers and two media personalities. An Umpire of the Year award was also on the programme.

What the officials said

“We are delighted to stage the annual Sri Lanka Cricket Awards 2025, which serve as a fitting tribute to the exceptional performances of our players during the 2025 season,” Sri Lanka Cricket Chief Executive Ashley De Silva said.

Dialog Axiata Group Chief Executive Supun Weerasinghe said the game’s reach was central to the company’s involvement. “Cricket has an extraordinary ability to unite Sri Lankans, transcending generations and communities through a shared passion for the game,” he said. “We thank Sri Lanka Cricket for its continued partnership and we are honoured to celebrate the achievements of our cricketers.”

Weerasinghe presented the sponsorship cheque to Sri Lanka Cricket Transformation Committee Chairman Eran Wickramaratne. Dialog also sponsors the national cricket, volleyball and esports teams, the Sri Lanka Golf Open and the country’s Paralympic programme.

The winners in each category had not been published by Sri Lanka Cricket or the title sponsor at the time of writing. This report will be updated when the full list is released.
