Lanka Metro Transit has introduced a weekend travel pass allowing unlimited rides on Metro Bus services for a one-time fee of Rs. 799.
The Metro Bus Weekend Pass is valid from 12.00 a.m. on Saturday until 11.59 p.m. on Sunday. Children under the age of 12 travel free under the offer.
The pass is available only through the LMT GO App, the operator said.
Announcing the initiative, Lanka Metro Transit said it was designed to give commuters more convenience and flexibility for weekend travel — whether meeting friends, travelling to university, exploring the city or on family outings.
A growing network
The pass is the operator’s first flat-rate ticketing product since the Metro Bus service began scaling up. Lanka Metro Transit is rolling out 104 additional buses from September and has announced plans to extend services to Jaffna and Kandy.
The LMT GO App, which already offers GPS tracking of Metro Bus services, is the sole channel for buying the pass, making it the operator’s main platform for both journey planning and fare payment.
