The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) will suspend the water supply to Wellawatte and Pamankada for seven hours tonight to carry out essential improvement works.
The interruption runs from 10.00 p.m. today (August 6) until 5.00 a.m. tomorrow (August 7).
The NWSDB said the shutdown is required for works being carried out under the Greater Colombo Water and Wastewater Management Improvement Investment Programme, a long-running upgrade of supply and wastewater infrastructure across the capital.
Residents in the affected areas have been advised to store sufficient water in advance and to use available supplies sparingly during the interruption.
