Sri Lanka Cricket has announced free public admission for both Tests of the upcoming series against India.
The two-match series forms part of the ICC World Test Championship. The first Test runs from August 15 to 19 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, and the second from August 23 to 27 at the Sinhalese Sports Club ground in Colombo.
Spectators will be admitted to the Galle International Cricket Stadium free of charge through Gate No. 4, according to the board’s announcement. At the SSC ground in Colombo, public access will be available through Gates 3, 4, 5 and 7.
Ada Derana reported that the series falls within the 2025–2027 World Test Championship cycle, and that the board has invited cricket fans and families around the country to take up the opportunity to watch Test cricket between the two sides.
Free admission is a step Sri Lanka Cricket has used before to draw crowds to Test matches, which typically attract far smaller gates than white-ball fixtures.
India are already in the country ahead of the series. A three-day warm-up match against a Sri Lanka Cricket XI began in Colombo this week.
