TWC has appointed Theekshana Jayarathna as Chief Executive Officer of TWC Development Management (Pvt) Ltd, the group’s real estate development management business.
The appointment was announced by TWC Founder and Executive Chairman Thilan Wijesinghe, who said the group was strengthening its leadership as it expands domestic and regional operations.
“The appointment of Theekshana reflects the continued growth and evolution of TWC’s development management business,” Wijesinghe said, adding that Jayarathna’s technical and financial experience across real estate asset classes had strengthened the firm’s work for clients including local corporates, family offices and offshore investment funds.
Background
Jayarathna joined TWC in 2022. He previously spent 14 years at John Keells Group as Assistant Vice President and Head of Asset Management and New Business Development, where he worked on apartment, hotel and retail projects including Cinnamon Life, with an aggregate value of around US$1.5 billion.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and holds qualifications in Quantity Surveying and Building Economics from the University of Reading.

Company activity
TWC Development Management provides services spanning development strategy, project feasibility, financial structuring, regulatory approvals, design management, construction oversight and asset stabilisation.
The company acted as sell-side adviser on the US$96 million sale of five marina plots at Colombo Port City to Browns Investments, and says it is currently advising on tourism, hospitality and commercial real estate projects valued at more than US$120 million.
The unit works alongside TWC Capital (Pvt) Ltd, the group’s corporate finance arm, which handles mergers, acquisitions and capital raising. TWC has also been active in aviation policy discussion, having recently put forward a turnaround proposal for SriLankan Airlines.
