The Sri Lankan rupee closed stronger at 332.75/95 to the US dollar in the spot market on Friday, up from 333.50/65 the previous session, while government bond yields fell further, dealers said.

The currency has continued to firm through the week. It had closed at 334.20/25 on Wednesday, meaning the rupee has gained across consecutive sessions.

Yields eased along most of the curve. A bond maturing on 15.10.2028 closed at 10.15/25 percent, down from 10.20/35 percent, and a bond maturing on 15.12.2029 closed at 10.55/65 percent from 10.60/65 percent.

A bond maturing on 01.08.2030 closed at 10.70/80 percent, down from 10.80/88 percent, while a bond maturing on 15.10.2030 closed at 10.75/85 percent from the same level. A bond maturing on 01.02.2031 closed at 10.80/90 percent, down from 10.85/93 percent.

At the longer end, a bond maturing on 15.01.2033 closed at 11.40/45 percent from 11.40/50 percent, and a bond maturing on 15.10.2034 closed at 11.65/75 percent, down from 11.70/80 percent.

The steepest moves were furthest out. A bond maturing on 15.08.2036 closed at 12.05/10 percent from 12.15/25 percent, and a bond maturing on 01.07.2037 closed at 12.10/20 percent, down from 12.20/25 percent.

A bond maturing on 15.09.2027 closed flat at 9.75/90 percent, EconomyNext reported.
