A 26-year-old man has been arrested along with his car over allegations of motor racing on roads in Cinnamon Gardens, Colombo.
Police said several luxury cars were driven at high speed along the same roads overnight, NewsFirst reported. Investigations are under way to seize two more vehicles allegedly involved in the incident.
A residential district
Cinnamon Gardens is a low-traffic residential quarter of Colombo 7 with wide, straight, well-surfaced avenues — the combination that makes it attractive for late-night racing. It is also among the city’s most closely policed areas, containing diplomatic missions, official residences and Viharamahadevi Park.
