A grenade was thrown at a house on Wimalasiri Mawatha, Kohuwala, on Thursday, causing damage to the property, NewsFirst reported.
Police Spokesman ASP F. U. Wootler said the attack is suspected to be the result of a dispute between two factions of organised criminals, and that it is also suspected to have targeted associates of an organised crime figure known as ‘Kudu Avishka’.
The attack was carried out by two people who arrived on a motorcycle. Their identities have not been released. Two police teams have been deployed to investigate.

Kohuwala falls within the Dehiwala–Mount Lavinia area of Colombo district. The attack is the latest in a run of grenade incidents at residential properties this year: four people were arrested over a grenade attack in Borella in August, and a hand grenade was thrown at a house in Ja-Ela at the start of this month.
