The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) has reported on the country’s first national pavilion at Fine Food Australia 2026, staged in collaboration with the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne, Hiru News reported.
The exhibition ran from 31 August to 3 September at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The EDB’s account of the participation was published this week.
Twelve companies across 90 square metres
The Sri Lanka Pavilion occupied 90 sqm and carried 12 Sri Lankan food and beverage companies, a mix of established exporters and smaller and medium-sized enterprises.
Products on show included Ceylon Tea and coffee, Ceylon Cinnamon and spices, coconut-based products, processed foods and beverages, seafood and processed fishery products, bakery goods, frozen foods, fruits, rice-based beverages and natural and herbal products.
The participating companies were Akbar Brothers, Perera and Sons Bakers, Link Natural Products, Coconut Taprobane, Sobako Products, Derana Marketing Services, K & D Foods International, HJS Condiments, Ocean Foods Manufacturing, Saya International Tea and Food Exports, Tradlanka Agricultural Enterprises and Ceylon Coco Infresh.
The pavilion was inaugurated by the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne, together with EDB officials, Sri Lankan chamber associations in Melbourne and representatives of the participating firms. A number of other Sri Lankan companies exhibited independently at the same event.
What the EDB says it achieved
Over the four days, the pavilion drew Australian and international importers, distributors, retailers and foodservice operators. Participating companies held business-to-business discussions and explored market access, distribution and sourcing partnerships.
The EDB said the participation is expected to support efforts to expand Sri Lanka’s food and beverage exports to Australia and to strengthen business linkages in that market.

No value is given for orders placed, leads generated or contracts signed at the exhibition, and the EDB gives no figure for the cost of staging the pavilion. The Consul General is not named in the report. Nor is there any indication of whether the EDB intends to return to Fine Food Australia in 2027.
