The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has called for expressions of interest from qualified firms to supply an enterprise data solution, a system the bank says is intended to strengthen its data management and analytics capabilities, EconomyNext reported on Sunday night.

The request was issued by the Chairperson of the Central Bank’s Procurement Committee under procurement number 73/01/007/2026/01, according to the notice published on the bank’s website.

The terms

Expressions of interest must be submitted by 1430 hrs Sri Lanka time on or before 26 October. The full web invitation is available for download from the bank’s tenders page, and the notice directs inquiries to a Senior Assistant Director in the Procurement Department and a Senior Assistant Director in the Information Technology Department.

What the notice does not say

The published notice is a one-page invitation and does not describe the scope of the system, the data domains it would cover, an estimated budget, an implementation timeline, or whether the procurement is externally funded. It does not say what systems, if any, the solution would replace. The bank has not issued a separate statement explaining the rationale beyond the data-management and analytics framing carried by EconomyNext.

Context

The Central Bank is the principal publisher of Sri Lanka’s monetary, external-sector and financial-stability statistics, and operates on a published advance release calendar for policy announcements and data. The procurement notice appeared three days before the bank’s fifth monetary policy review of 2026, scheduled for 30 September. Nothing in the notice links the two, and an expression-of-interest stage is an early step that precedes any tender award.

This is a procurement announcement rather than a policy decision, and no contract has been awarded.
