Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka has picked up two marketing awards in the year the brand marks 65 years in the country.
The company was named ‘Most Popular Beverage Brand of the Year’ at the Calin Popular Awards 2026. At SLIM DIGIS 2.6 — the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing’s digital marketing awards — its Real Magic platform was recognised for ‘Best Use of Experiential & On-Ground Digital Amplification’, a category covering campaigns that tie physical activations to digital engagement.
The anniversary campaign
The company says 2026 marks 65 years since the brand entered the Sri Lankan market. Its anniversary campaign, ‘Thank You for Always Picking Coca-Cola’, is built around that consumer relationship rather than around the product.
“These recognitions are especially meaningful as we celebrate 65 years in Sri Lanka,” said Mario Perera, Country Head for Sri Lanka and the Maldives at The Coca-Cola Company. “Generations of Sri Lankans have continued to choose Coca-Cola, and that trust is something we never take for granted.”
Perera said staying relevant meant “continuously evolving how we connect with consumers,” and described the two awards as reflecting a balance between a long-standing relationship and experiences that resonate with consumers now.
Context
The Calin Popular Awards are a consumer-voted popularity ranking, while SLIM DIGIS judges digital marketing execution — so the two recognise different things: brand standing in one case, campaign craft in the other.
Neither award carries disclosed financial or market-share implications, and no sales or volume figures were released alongside the announcement. The account of the wins was published on Newswire’s business desk and reflects material issued by the company.
