The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has told a Colombo court that its preliminary investigations into Neville Wanniarachchi, former Chief Security Officer to ex-President Mahinda Rajapaksa, are complete.
The commission informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama on Tuesday when the case was taken up, Hiru News reported. Wanniarachchi, who is out on bail, appeared in court.
The court ordered the case recalled on January 19.
The case
CIABOC brought action against Wanniarachchi over the alleged illegal accumulation of assets and property valued at Rs. 28 million.
He was arrested on 2 October 2025 after reporting to the commission to give a statement, was remanded, and was subsequently granted bail.
