Twenty-four Sri Lankan cricketers are on the final list for the DP World ILT20 Season 5 player auction, held in Dubai on 1 October, Newswire reported.
Wanindu Hasaranga, Pathum Nissanka and Dasun Shanaka are listed in the marquee category. More than 200 players from 23 countries are in the pool, among them Babar Azam, Phil Salt, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Faf du Plessis and Liam Livingstone.
The three reserve-price bands
According to the final auction list dated 29 September, the Sri Lankan entries fall into three brackets:
US$80,000 β Pathum Nissanka, Dushmantha Chameera, Eshan Malinga, Nuwan Thushara, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka, Kamindu Mendis, Kusal Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga.
US$40,000 β Kusal Perera, Avishka Fernando, Binura Fernando, Dilshan Madushanka, Dunith Wellalage, Milan Rathnayaka, Isuru Udana and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth.
US$10,000 β Sachindu Colombage, Garuka Sanketh, Chamidu Wickramasinghe, Dushan Hemantha, Nuwanidu Fernando, Tharindu Rathnayake and Vishen Halambage.
Availability is the complication
Of the 24, 13 are listed as available for the full tournament and 11 for part of it β a split that matters to franchises building a squad around overseas slots, and one that typically depresses bidding on partially available players regardless of their reserve band.
The list also identifies right-to-match options held by several franchises over players previously on their books.
Caveats
This report reflects the auction list as published before bidding, not its outcome. It does not state which franchises hold which right-to-match options, which players fall on either side of the availability split, or what has driven the partial availability β though Sri Lankaβs international schedule and player fitness are the usual constraints. Hasaranga has had a disrupted year, having been ruled out of IPL 2026.
No verified newsroom had published its own account of the Sri Lankan entry list at the time of writing. Sale prices and squad allocations will be known only once the auction concludes.
