Bimal Ratnayake, Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development and Leader of the House, has been appointed Co-Chair of the Media Forum of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties.

He will serve a two-year term alongside Dr. Seo Ji-young, who was also elected Co-Chair of the forum, the Daily Mirror reported.

Ratnayake has in addition been appointed a member of the ICAPP Steering Committee.

The Seoul session

The appointments were made at the 13th ICAPP Session, held in Seoul, South Korea, from 4 to 7 November. The session brought together representatives of 83 political parties from 36 countries.

ICAPP is a standing forum that convenes political parties from across Asia, bringing together governing and opposition parties rather than governments.
