The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has cautioned the public against relying on unofficial guidance circulating about the centralised electronic system for submitting asset and liability declarations.
In a statement, the Commission said it had observed that various external parties not affiliated with it were providing instructions and awareness sessions on accessing the system, entering information and operating the online declaration platform. Some of the information and procedures being communicated, it said, are inaccurate and inconsistent with the officially approved process.
CIABOC stressed that it bears no responsibility for any misinformation or guidance issued by individuals or organisations outside its official structure. It said any issues relating to the submission of declarations through the electronic system should be clarified only through the Commission’s Assets and Liabilities Declaration Division.
The public was advised to seek assistance exclusively through the official hotline numbers 0767011954 and 0112587284.
The warning comes as public officials work to file their mandatory declarations through the new digital platform ahead of the June 30 deadline set by the Commission. The centralised e-system is intended to streamline annual asset and liability filings required of public servants and elected officials under Sri Lanka’s anti-corruption law.
