A 36-year-old man has been killed in a beer-bottle assault following a drinking dispute in the Gurunagar area of Jaffna, Police said.
The incident took place on Sunday night during an argument between two individuals who had been consuming alcohol together. Police said the suspect attacked the victim with a beer bottle during the altercation. The injured man was rushed to Jaffna Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
A 42-year-old suspect has been arrested. Investigations are continuing.
