An exposition of Sacred Sarvanna Relics taken from Sri Lanka opened on Friday at the Huong Dao Vipassana Meditation Center in Texas and will continue until May 10, the Buddhasasana Ministry said.

The relics were taken to the United States under Sri Lankan government patronage following a request from Venerable Pannyakara Thero of Vietnam, who led the Global Walk for Peace in the Island of Peace that concluded at Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo on April 28.

The relics travelling for the exposition include the Sacred Sarvanna Relics discovered at the Neelagiri Maha Seya โ€” currently enshrined at the Hanguranketha Madumwala Viharaya โ€” together with Sacred Hair Relics (Kesha Dhatu) and other relics from the Gangaramaya Temple.

A Sri Lankan delegation of senior monks of the Maha Sangha, Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi and officials of the Department of Archaeology travelled to Texas for the events.
