Sri Lanka Cricket has named its squads for all three formats of the West Indies tour, with the team departing on May 26. All selections are subject to approval by the Sports Minister.
Dhananjaya de Silva will captain the Test side, with Kamindu Mendis as vice-captain. The 15-man Test squad is: Pathum Nissanka, Lahiru Udara, Nishan Madushka, Dinesh Chandimal, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Sonal Dinusha, Kusal Mendis, Milan Rathnayake, Prabath Jayasuriya, Ramesh Mendis, Asitha Fernando, Vishwa Fernando, Lahiru Kumara, Isitha Wijesundara and Kasun Rajitha.
Kusal Mendis captains both white-ball squads, again with Kamindu Mendis as his deputy. The 14-man ODI squad includes Charith Asalanka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Dilshan Madushanka and Eshan Malinga. The T20I squad sees Dasun Shanaka return alongside Binura Fernando, with Lasith Croospulle also selected. Milan Rathnayake earns a place in all three squads.
Nuwan Thushara, who recently withdrew his High Court petition challenging SLC’s refusal to grant him an IPL NOC, has been included in the T20I squad. The two-Test, three-ODI, three-T20I tour is Sri Lanka’s first scheduled overseas men’s bilateral series of the home season. Sri Lanka are currently seventh in the ICC Test rankings after being overtaken by Pakistan earlier this month.
