Sri Lanka has welcomed 138,730 tourists so far in July, according to the latest data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
India remained the country’s largest source market with 31,734 arrivals, or about 23 percent of the monthly total. The United Kingdom followed with 14,949 visitors, ahead of China on 8,484, the Netherlands on 8,415 and Australia on 7,419.
The figures take Sri Lanka’s cumulative arrivals for 2026 past 1.28 million, with the SLTDA recording 1,285,303 visitors year to date. India again leads the annual tally with 325,417 arrivals, followed by the UK with 123,526 and China with 84,655.
For comparison, the country recorded 200,244 arrivals across the full month of July last year.
Tourism is one of Sri Lanka’s key foreign-exchange earners, and monthly arrival data is closely watched as an indicator of the sector’s momentum through the year.
