The Department of Examinations has released the re-scrutiny results of the 2025 (2026) General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level examination.
The results were released on Saturday (26), Hiru News reported. Candidates can retrieve them by entering their index number or National Identity Card number on the department’s official website.
Daily Mirror reported the same release and named three portals carrying the results: the websites of the Ministry of Education and the Department of Examinations, and the results portal at www.doenets.lk and www.results.exams.gov.lk.

The two reports differ on the name of the unit handling inquiries. Hiru News calls it the School Examinations Organisation and Results Branch; Daily Mirror calls it the Postal Examinations Organization and Results Branch.
Background
Re-scrutiny is the process by which a candidate who disputes a released grade can ask the Department of Examinations to re-check the marking of a paper. It does not involve a re-sit.
The original results of the examination were released online via doenets.lk, when 451,463 candidates were able to retrieve their scores by index number.
Neither report states how many candidates applied for re-scrutiny, how many grades were revised as a result, or what the deadline is for any further appeal.
