Litro Gas Lanka announced on Tuesday that there will be no revision to LP gas prices for the month of May, with the company saying the decision was taken to provide relief to consumers despite rising costs in the international market and continuing exchange-rate pressure.

The 12.5 kg cylinder will remain at Rs. 4,765, the 5 kg cylinder at Rs. 1,910 and the 2.5 kg cylinder at Rs. 890 in the Colombo District through May, Litro said in a statement. The prevailing rates have applied since the previous monthly revision and are unchanged from April.

The hold comes as Brent crude fell back below $107 per barrel and US benchmark WTI dropped under $100 on Wednesday, reflecting hopes of a near-term US–Iran deal to end the war and partially restore Strait of Hormuz transit. Earlier in the year, Litro and rival LAUGFS had moved prices in tandem during the Hormuz crisis, with both citing higher international LPG and freight costs.

Litro Gas Lanka is the dominant household supplier in Sri Lanka and operates under monthly pricing reviews. The company said last month that supplies would remain assured through May, despite earlier warnings of bottlenecks tied to the Hormuz disruption. Today’s pricing announcement removes the immediate cost-of-living risk for the Avurudu-into-Vesak window during which household gas demand typically remains elevated.
