The Lanka India Business Association will host a full-day corporate forum titled “India Calling” on August 6, 2026, at the Taj Samudra hotel in Colombo, Ada Derana Business reported.
The event is designed to bring together business leaders from Sri Lanka and India to examine barriers to bilateral trade and investment and to explore avenues for deeper commercial cooperation. Organisers say the forum will focus on identifying practical opportunities for joint ventures and cross-border partnerships between companies in the two countries.
India remains one of Sri Lanka’s largest trading partners and a key source of foreign investment, tourism and lines of credit. Economic ties between the neighbours have expanded in recent years, with both governments pursuing closer integration through discussions on connectivity, energy and an economic and technology cooperation framework.
The forum is expected to draw participation from corporate executives, trade officials and investment promoters, giving delegates a platform to discuss regulatory hurdles and market-access issues that continue to shape the bilateral business relationship.
