The second school term for Sinhala and Tamil government schools and government-approved private schools ends on Friday, July 24, the Education Ministry has announced.

The first phase of the third term for these schools will begin on Monday, July 27, giving students a short break of just over a weekend before classes resume.

The schedule differs for Muslim schools, the ministry said. Their second term will conclude on Friday, July 31, with the first phase of the third term commencing on Sunday, August 30.

The staggered calendar reflects the separate holiday patterns observed by Muslim schools. Parents and students have been advised to follow the official term dates when planning for the resumption of classes and related activities.
