The Lalith Athulathmudali Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Trust Fund has announced that the final selection list of recipients for the 2024/2025 Mahapola Scholarship has been forwarded to the relevant universities, and has urged selected students to complete their online registration by August 17, 2026.
According to the Trust Fund, students whose names appear on the final selection list must register through the Mahapola online portal at https://mahapola.lk/BankApp2025/ using their National Identity Card (NIC) number on or before the deadline.
After completing the online registration, students are required to print and sign the application and submit it to their respective university, together with a copy of their bank passbook or a bank account confirmation.
The Trust Fund said scholarship payments will be made only after this registration process is completed, and encouraged eligible students to act before the August 17 cut-off to avoid delays in receiving their funds.
Students whose names do not appear on the final list may lodge an appeal through their respective universities to the University Grants Commission by October 15, 2026, according to NewsFirst.
