Pan Asia Bank has appointed B.D.A. Perera as Chairman and Ayodhya Iddawela Perera as Deputy Chairperson, both with effect from August 3, 2026.
Perera joined the bank’s board in April 2021 and had served as Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director since November 2024. He succeeds Aravinda Perera, who held the chairmanship for nine years.
The incoming Chairman
The new Chairman brings more than two decades of experience in leasing and finance. He currently serves as an Executive Director of L.B. Finance PLC and of its Myanmar subsidiary, L.B. Microfinance Myanmar Company Ltd.
He previously held senior positions at Commercial Leasing Company Ltd, Lanka ORIX Leasing Company PLC and Merchant Bank Bangladesh.
An Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), he holds a BSc special degree in business administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and has completed the High Potentials Leadership Programme at Harvard Business School.
The Deputy Chairperson
Ayodhya Iddawela Perera joined the Pan Asia Bank board as an Independent Non-Executive Director in April 2026, four months before her elevation to Deputy Chairperson.
She brings more than 36 years of local and international banking experience and served as Managing Director of Sampath Bank PLC from July 2023 to September 2025.
Her governance record includes directorships at Lanka Financial Services Bureau Ltd, LankaPay (Pvt) Ltd, National Credit Guarantee Institution Ltd and Sampath Centre Ltd. She has also served on the boards of the Sri Lanka Banks’ Association and the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.
She holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from CIMA, UK. She has completed her banking studies to Associateship level and is a Senior Fellow of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.
Pan Asia Bank reported profit before tax of Rs. 1.65 billion for the first quarter of 2026.
