The partially buried body of a man has been found on an estate in the Kudagammana area of Divulapitiya, Hiru News reported, citing Divulapitiya Police.
Police recovered the body after a local resident spotted it and telephoned the Divulapitiya Police Station.
Officers who reached the scene found that the head had been separated from the body. Several currency notes and a type of toffee were scattered at the location, according to the report.
Divulapitiya Police are conducting further investigations.
