The job platform XpressJobs has been appointed official recruitment partner for Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2026, which runs from 23 to 25 October at Viharamahadevi Park and Green Path Avenue in Colombo.
It is the platform’s third consecutive year in the role, the Colombo Gazette reported. Its brief is to help visitors connect their skills and training with employment openings across sectors.
The partnership
The agreement was signed at the Ministry of Education. Those present included Kavinda Dissanayake, chairman of the Agriculture Sector Skills Council; retired Brigadier Chanaka Prathapasinghe, representing the exhibition steering committee and council; and, for XpressJobs, Tyner Fernando and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Oshadie Korale.
The exhibition
This is the fourth edition of the expo, running under the theme “Skills for Life”. It is organised by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education together with the Agriculture Sector Skills Council, the Industry Sector Skills Councils and the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.
Organisers expect more than 300,000 visitors and participants. The programme is built around six strategic arenas and more than 200 spaces, bringing together students, school leavers, skilled workers, training providers and employers.
Background
The expo was launched in July by Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who used the occasion to argue that vocational education should no longer be treated as a fallback option for those who do not enter university, but as a pathway chosen on its own merits.
Note for readers: XpressJobs has held the same role at previous editions of this exhibition, and announcements from earlier years are similarly worded. The details above — the fourth edition, the “Skills for Life” theme, and the 23–25 October 2026 dates at Viharamahadevi Park — identify the current one.
