The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has recovered two revolvers belonging to a suspect known as β€œWanathe Duminda,” who is currently held under detention orders, NewsFirst reported.

Police said the weapons were found during interrogations conducted with the suspect, who they identified as the person behind a shooting that killed two people in Sahaspura, Borella.

Investigators said the woman who brought and supplied the T-56 firearm used in the shooting has also been arrested, and that the shooter has now been taken into custody. Based on questioning of the shooter, police have recovered the motorcycle used in the attack.

The CCD said further investigations are continuing. The case adds to a run of organised-crime weapons recoveries in recent weeks, including a T-56 rifle traced to the Somawathiya reserve and a T-56 shooting in Midigama.
