The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will hold the 26th edition of the Sri Lanka Economic and Investment Summit on October 12–13, 2026, bringing the country’s leading policy forum back for another year of high-level dialogue, the chamber announced on Sunday.

Preparations are in their final stages as the Summit prepares to convene policymakers, business leaders, diplomats and development partners to address national priorities and chart pathways for Sri Lanka’s economic future, Newswire reported. The chamber said engagements with local and international speakers, development partners, diplomatic missions and private-sector stakeholders are advancing steadily.

The 2026 programme will focus on economic growth, competitiveness, investment, trade, productivity, fiscal and structural reforms, sustainability and the changing global economic environment. Discussions will also examine how Sri Lanka can build a more shock-resilient economy, strengthen links to Asia’s growth networks through trade and regional value chains, reframe healthcare as a driver of economic and social progress, and balance energy security with sustainability and growth. Sessions on digital transformation, education and skills development, and the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence and emerging technologies will also feature.

The 2025 Summit attracted more than 850 participants, featured over 40 local and international speakers and welcomed delegates from more than 20 countries. The chamber said it considered the event one of the region’s most respected economic forums, drawing senior government representatives, private-sector leaders, diplomats, development agencies, researchers and industry specialists.

Interest from regional business communities has been encouraging following a series of international outreach efforts in recent months, including the chamber’s high-level business delegation to Mumbai, which generated interest among Indian businesses and investors. The summit announcement comes weeks after new chamber CEO Shiran Fernando assumed office and ahead of the Sri Lanka Climate Summit 2026 scheduled for June 9.
