Colombo BC and Track Masters claimed the men’s and women’s Sri Lanka Basketball League championships respectively in finals played at Royal College indoor courts on Saturday.
In the men’s final, Colombo BC edged Colombo Bulls 73-69 to cap a perfect tournament run, winning all seven games. The Bulls mounted a strong challenge but committed costly errors in the closing stages that Colombo capitalised on. Rukshan Atapattu, Dasun Mendis, Nimesh Fernando, and Simron Yoganathan were instrumental in Colombo BC’s title-winning campaign.
The women’s final saw Track Masters overcome a four-point halftime deficit to defeat the Bulls 53-46. Devduni Perera, Anjalee Ekanayake, and Benika Thalagala powered the second-half comeback that sealed the seven-point victory.
