Fox Jaffna, a property operated by Fox Resorts, has been named among 30 of the best dining destinations in Sri Lanka in a feature published by travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller.
The magazine spotlighted the island’s culinary landscape and what it described as Sri Lanka’s growing reputation as one of Asia’s most exciting food destinations. The inclusion places the northern property among a select group of establishments recognised for showcasing the diversity, authenticity and innovation of contemporary Sri Lankan cuisine.
Condé Nast Traveller noted that the country’s food culture is rooted in centuries-old traditions, family recipes and locally sourced ingredients — ranging from tropical fruits such as mangosteen and rambutan to vegetables like long beans, snake gourd and jackfruit, and world-renowned spices including cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom. It also highlighted the role of roadside stalls and small local eateries, describing a food trail that runs from Jaffna in the north to the areas around Yala National Park in the south.
The recognition underscores the rising profile of Jaffna as a culinary destination and comes amid strong growth in Sri Lanka’s restaurant sector, with new dining venues opening from the southern coast to Colombo, NewsFirst reported.
