A 64-year-old man from Kapugollewa has died and three others were injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles at the 134th kilometre post along the Puttalam–Trincomalee Road in Horowpathana, police said.
Police said one motorcycle was travelling toward Trincomalee when it collided with another that had entered the main road from a side road. Two riders and two pillion passengers were admitted to the Horowpathana Divisional Hospital, where one of the riders later succumbed to his injuries.
Horowpathana Police are investigating.
