The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has suspended water supply to Kaduwela and several surrounding areas after a sudden breakdown in the main supply line carrying water from Ambathale.
The interruption is in effect from 7:30pm on Saturday, May 9 until 1:00pm on Sunday, May 10, the Board said in an advisory.
Affected areas include Kaduwela, Kothalawala, Weliwita, Hewagama, Korathota, Bomiriya, Nawagamuwa, Ranala and Kahanthota.
NWSDB has not indicated whether bowser distribution will be arranged to cover the gap. Households in the affected areas have been advised to store water for the duration of the outage. The board did not specify the cause of the line failure.
