A fire broke out in an electrical system on the ground floor of the Kalutara District Secretariat on Monday morning (July 13), damaging equipment but causing no injuries, officials said.
The blaze started at around 8:30 a.m. Fire engines from the Kalutara Municipal Council fire brigade were dispatched to the scene and quickly brought the fire under control. No casualties or injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
The electricity supply to the District Secretariat, the main administrative office for the Kalutara district, remained disconnected following the fire, Ada Derana reported.
