A 14-year-old girl was killed in a collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Kuda Oya on Sunday morning, Police said.
The accident occurred along the Weherayaya–Siripura road when the bus struck an oncoming motorcycle. The girl, who was travelling as a pillion rider, died on admission to hospital. The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries and was transferred to Monaragala Hospital for further treatment.
The victim was a resident of Ethiliwewa. The bus driver has been arrested, and Police are continuing the investigation.
