Public services linked to the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) will be unavailable across Sri Lanka on July 30 and 31 while the Labour Department carries out essential maintenance on its computer system, the department has announced.
Commissioner General of Labour H.M.D.N.K. Wataliyadda said the temporary suspension covers the EPF Database and the Digital EPF system, and will affect the department’s head office as well as all zonal, district and sub-district labour offices.
Services that will be unavailable during the two-day window include EPF benefit payments and registrations.
The department said anyone who had already booked an appointment for services on either of those two dates may instead visit the relevant labour office on any other working day within one month to obtain the required service.
The EPF is Sri Lanka’s largest superannuation fund, covering millions of private-sector and semi-government workers who rely on the department’s offices for balance checks, withdrawals and membership updates.
