The final rites of Lance Corporal A.P. Mariyalujisan of the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Services were conducted with full military honours in Kilinochchi on Friday, May 1, the army said.
Mariyalujisan, attached to the 12(V) Engineer Services Regiment, was injured in a train accident at Murikandy on April 19. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital and later died while receiving treatment.
He had joined the army on June 1, 2014. Senior officers, fellow servicemen, relatives and residents of the area attended the funeral.
