Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced that the 2026 Lanka Premier League will run from July 10 to August 5, fixing dates for the sixth edition of the country’s flagship T20 tournament.

Matches will be played across four venues: the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground and the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, and the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, SLC said in a statement.

The online portal for foreign player registration will open on May 4, SLC confirmed, beginning the recruitment window for overseas professionals ahead of the player draft.

The tournament will again be conducted by SLC in partnership with The IPG Group, the event rights holder. Samantha Dodanwela, a member of the SLC Executive Committee, will continue in the role of tournament director.

The Lanka Premier League was launched in 2020 as Sri Lanka’s premier domestic T20 competition, featuring franchise teams and a mix of local and international players. Previous editions have run in November–December windows; the 2026 mid-year scheduling shifts the tournament into the post-IPL window when more overseas players are available.
