The remaining squads will be finalised at the upcoming LPL 2026 player draft. The tournament, owned by Sri Lanka Cricket and staged in partnership with The IPG Group as event rights holder, runs from July 17 to August 8, with reigning champions Jaffna Kings facing Galle Gallants in the opener at the Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo.

The pre-signed list lands a day after Newswire reported that India batter Vijay Shankar is set to retire from competitive cricket after LPL 2026, expected at Colombo Kaps. Foreign player registration for LPL 2026 opened in early May and franchise picks have been informed by the wider global talent pool now available.
