The Department of Examinations has confirmed that results of the 2025 G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination will be released by the middle of June.
Commissioner General of Examinations Indika Kumari Liyanage said no exact date has been finalised, responding to social media claims that results were imminent. She confirmed that arrangements are in place to issue the results by mid-June.
The 2025 O/Level examination was conducted from February 17 to 26. A total of 451,463 candidates sat the exam — 382,249 school candidates and 69,214 private candidates.
Results clear the way for students to apply for Advanced Level streams and other post-O/Level pathways. The announcement comes amid a busy examinations calendar, with the department also recently administering the teacher recruitment examination sat by 163,433 candidates.
