Sri Lanka Police have launched a QR code-enabled digital platform titled the “Sri Lanka Police Community Feedback Portal” to allow the public to submit feedback, complaints, compliments and suggestions on services provided at police stations across the country, Ada Derana reported.
The online platform is designed to improve the efficiency of police services through a more people-centred approach supported by data-driven analysis, the force said in a statement. Citizens can scan a QR code displayed at any police station to access the portal and select one of four response categories — comment, complaint, compliment, or suggestion — before submitting personal details, the reason for visiting the station and any additional information.
The portal is also accessible through the official Sri Lanka Police website (police.lk) under the E-Services section, allowing the public to file feedback electronically without visiting a station.
The Inspector General of Police has directed all senior officers and Officers-in-Charge to install QR code boards titled “Sri Lanka Police Community Feedback Portal” at every police station, including reception areas and prosecution units, and to promote the facility among the public. Police said the initiative is aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability and service delivery by systematically incorporating public feedback into performance improvement processes.
The launch follows a series of recent public-facing digital advisories from the police, including warnings about fake WhatsApp accounts impersonating officers, fake social media pages collecting traffic fine payments and SMS-based traffic fine scams — most of which exploit the gap between citizens and verified police digital channels.
