The limited competitive examination for recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Principals’ Service — 2025 (2026), previously scheduled for April 26, has been postponed until further notice.

The Ministry of Education said the decision was taken owing to unavoidable circumstances. It did not disclose the reason in further detail, and no revised date has been announced.

The limited competitive examination is the standard entry route into Grade III of the Principals’ Service, the bottom rung of the cadre that runs Sri Lanka’s government school principalships. Candidates are drawn mainly from the teaching service with the minimum years of service and qualifications specified in the service minute.

Applicants scheduled to sit the exam on Sunday will need to wait for a fresh circular from the Ministry of Education before making travel or leave arrangements.
