Senior Prof. Nalin Abeysekera, a marketing academic and former Dean of the Open University of Sri Lanka, has passed away, Newswire reported on Saturday morning.

Prof. Abeysekera was a Chartered Marketer and a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, with more than fifteen years of consulting experience alongside his university career. He served as Dean at the Open University of Sri Lanka, the country’s largest distance-learning institution.

He was an old boy of Ananda College, Colombo, and served as an Executive Committee member of the school’s Old Boys’ Association.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
