Sri Lanka Cricket has awarded national player contracts to 46 cricketers for the 2026–27 season, the governing body announced on Tuesday. The contract period runs from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027.
Players have been categorised under A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and Central Contract tiers, with selection based on performance, consistency, fitness, potential and the strategic requirements of the national teams across formats.
Seven players have been newly inducted into the national contracts pool: Kamil Mishara, Lasith Croospulle, Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, Isitha Wijesundera, Wanuja Sahan, Dilum Sudeera, and Tharindu Rathnayake. The promotion of leg-spinner Viyaskanth and middle-order keeper-batter Kamil Mishara — both regulars in the white-ball squads over the past year — reflects management’s continued shift toward integrating recent T20I performers into the central contracted group.
SLC said the contracts are aimed at providing the necessary support, structure and resources for selected cricketers to perform at the highest level while contributing to the long-term development of the game in Sri Lanka.
The contracts batch lands as Sri Lanka’s white-ball calendar accelerates, with Kusal Mendis confirmed as ODI and T20I captain in May and the women’s side coming off a 25-run T20I win over Bangladesh in Sylhet.
