Sri Lanka Cricket selectors have named a 28-member squad to face the New Zealand A team on a tour running from April 3 to 27.

The New Zealand A side arrived in Sri Lanka on April 2 ahead of a five-match programme comprising three one-day matches and two four-day fixtures.

Tour Schedule

The one-day series begins on April 5 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium (GICS), with further matches on April 8 and 11 at the same venue. The two four-day matches are scheduled to start on April 16 and 23.

Development Focus

SLC said the tour will serve as a platform to prepare players for upcoming international assignments and to give emerging talent competitive match experience. The large 28-member squad reflects the selectors’ intention to assess a broad pool of players across both formats.

The tour is part of SLC’s ongoing development programme and comes ahead of a busy international calendar for Sri Lanka’s senior team later in 2026.

New Zealand A tours to the subcontinent are a regular feature of both boards’ player development pipelines, providing valuable experience in conditions that differ significantly from home surfaces.

Full squad details are available on the Sri Lanka Cricket official website.
