The body of an unidentified man washed ashore on Sunday at the Uswetakeiyawa beach in the Pamunugama area, prompting a police investigation, officials said.
According to Pamunugama Police, the deceased is believed to be a male aged between 40 and 45 years and approximately 5 feet 3 inches in height. He had short-cropped hair and was wearing a green T-shirt and a blue-and-white sarong when his body was discovered.
The remains have been placed at the Ragama Hospital mortuary while Pamunugama Police continue further inquiries to establish the man’s identity and the circumstances of his death.
