A 36-year-old woman has been arrested in the Wattala Police Division with a large quantity of narcotics, following an intelligence-led raid by the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB).
The suspect, a resident of Mattakkuliya, was taken into custody on Saturday (July 11) during the operation. Officers recovered 1 kilogram and 140 grams of crystal methamphetamine — known locally as “Ice” — along with 538 grams of heroin from her possession.
Further investigations are being conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau.
The seizure adds to a steady run of drug busts by the PNB, which has been mounting frequent intelligence-driven raids as part of the wider crackdown on narcotics trafficking across the Western Province and beyond.
