The exam date was disclosed alongside the release of the 2026 General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) timetable, which will run August 10 to September 5. The Grade 5 paper will be held on the Sunday immediately preceding the A/L exam window.
The Grade 5 Scholarship is a national-level assessment that determines admission to prestigious state schools for students entering Grade 6 the following year. Cut-off marks for individual schools are released after the results, and parents typically use the rankings to apply for inter-school admissions.
